Leave behind the mundane and cross over the Threshold into the creative realms...

How ‘Thresholds to Other Worlds’ started

In 2020, the whole world found itself at a collective threshold amid the ongoing global crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic. Suddenly the dynamic of social distancing started taking shape as a concept to keep people safe. Artists Jill & Carlos collaborated in a performance to explore our shared global experience using the social distancing rules as a theme.

‘’We created a large circle by using a 150cm rope tied to our ankles and painting our feet. The tension between us had to stay just right so we could create the shape of a circle together while adhering to the ‘social distancing rules’.

This circle planted a seed and set the space for our ‘Thresholds to Other Worlds’ creative workshops we have been facilitating for our local community since 2020.’’

an end of the world as we knew it…

We felt a deep concern for how these changes were impacting everyone's well-being, prompting us to address these growing concerns through meaningful community engagement - this became the key focus of our community workshops.

The workshops allowed us to unite our local community despite physical separation, offering a space where individuals could share their experiences and navigate the emotional complexities of our changed reality.
